The rollercoaster that taught me to love myself.

"I have given God a million reasons not to love me. None of them changed my mind." -anonymous      Just last year, I was a mess. And by just last year I mean every year before that too, don't get it twisted. I was always fighting with my boyfriend, always fighting with family. I was extremely unhappy in my job. My finances were a mess, I felt like I could never get my bank account out of the red. I was living paycheck to paycheck....with several jobs.  I was overweight, and had no hopes of losing it, either. I had lost hope in myself. Anxiety pretty ruled most of my life. I had hardly any motivation. I was down...

My 2019 Word of the Year

Happy 2019 everyone, I know, a tad late but it still counts because it's still January! Is it just me or does January feel like it lasts forever? I swear it's the longest month of the year. Perhaps I'm just anxious because of everything going on in my life right now. In less than a month I turn 30 and in just 20 weeks we'll be welcoming Baby Jones into the world.         Have you ever been a place where you were working so hard you just didn't know if you could continue? Yeah, that was me. I've worked more than two jobs, sometimes up to five at a time, for years and years. I don't tell you this because it's impressive, I tell you because I did what I had to do. You see, life just isn't easy all the time. And sometimes I think I might have made it a little harder on myself. I didn't finish my degree in college which means I had to work a LOT harder in my 20's to not only figure out what I wanted to do with my life, but...

Please Cancel my Subscription to your Issues

I saw this quote the other day and it made me laugh...but then it got me thinking. How often do we subscribe to other peoples problems? We allow others to soak up our days, complaining about their lives and issues. I get that it's easy to subscribe to things. We subscribe to newsletters in our emails, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, but what about those subscriptions that we'd rather cancel? We can easily make the choice to cancel Netflix to save money, so why can't we cancel subscriptions to the things that leave us feeling empty? I know it's hard to pick friends who only lift you up. I find myself making excuses for people like "Well, she's...

Don't Rush the Time

"We waste our whole life preparing for the future, not realizing that the only way to be happy is to embrace each moment."   It's that time of year again. Teachers and kids are going back to school, the days are getting shorter, people are back to their school year routines. And of course, people are rushing the season, once again. Can I share something with you guys? It drives me nuts when people try to rush the season. I remember my mom making comments about people wearing sweaters in the summertime when I was a kid. Maybe being annoyed about the rushing of the seasons is something I get from her. Don't get me wrong, Fall is amazing....
